The Kansas Jayhawks topped the Oklahoma Sooners, 5-3, in Skip Bertman League action at Brutes Ballpark. The player of the game was Kansas left fielder Sterling Maroney. Chris Mayfield saved it for Kansas. The Jayhawks bumped their record to 27-14 with this latest triumph.

Maroney had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-0 knuckleball from Paul Bowes, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Jayhawks a 4-3 lead. It was the 11th home run of the year for Maroney.

Maroney attributed the win to "a well-rounded effort by the whole team."
