Roberts Hits 3 home runs in Salukis Win
|
The Iowa State Cyclones and South Illinois Salukis brought some excitement to Forney College Grounds.
The South Illinois Salukis topped the Iowa State Cyclones, 11-3, in Skip Bertman League action at Forney College Grounds. The player of the game was South Illinois right fielder Anthony Roberts. Jim Thomazin got credit for the win, improving to 1-3. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 5.1 innings.
Roberts put South Illinois up, 10-1, when he hit a grand slam home run off Jason Allen in the top of the eighth. His 12th home run of the season helped the Salukis capture the win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Roberts. "And not try to do too much."
The Salukis raised their record to 19-22.
