The Miami Hurricanes topped the South Carolina Gamecocks, 5-4, in Skip Bertman League action at Scandals Ballpark. The player of the game was Miami shortstop Ryan Murphy. The win was Andrew Millard's in relief. His record improves to 2-1. A.J. Galloway took the loss for South Carolina. Even with the win, the Hurricanes have a dismal 13-28 record.

The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from catcher Jacob Cutter. For the game, Cutter went 2 for 5 with a double. In the top of the first, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 20th hit of the season gave Miami a 1-0 lead.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Cutter. "And not try to do too much."
