Seminoles Trip Cavaliers in Extras
|
The Florida State Seminoles topped the Virginia Cavaliers, 4-3, in Skip Bertman League action at Ballpark of Redwood College. The player of the game was Florida State pitcher Nate Stevenson. The win was Butch Eviston's in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Tony Eagan took the loss for Virginia. Florida State is now riding a 3-game win streak.
Jose Galvan had a nice at-bat for the Seminoles with no one out in the top of the tenth. With the bases empty, the pinch hitter reached on an error by the 2B, which would prove important in the Florida State win.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Galvan. "And not try to do too much."
