The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Miami Hurricanes, 6-4, in Skip Bertman League action at Gremlins Ballpark, with Ohio State pitcher Matt Pierce named player of the game. The Buckeyes bumped their record to 22-18 with this latest triumph.

Joe Ezell aided the Ohio State cause with a run-scoring walk in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher drew 2 walks in 5 plate appearances.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ohio State manager Dave Draves.
