Victory Pushes Sooners Record to 22-18
|
Florida got a terrific performance from designated hitter Jose Lopez, but it wasn't enough to beat the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma won the Biglerville College Fields contest, 5-4. Lopez was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. The Sooners bumped their record to 22-18 with this latest triumph.
A crucial at-bat came with runners on 1st and 2nd and no one out in the bottom of the third inning. That's when right fielder T.J. Leiby, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Sooners organization, drew a walk. The Sooners went on to win.
"Enjoyed this one," Leiby told the Oklahoma Today. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
