Cavaliers Win at Vanderbilt, 5-2
|
Virginia Cavaliers starter Danny Horn turned in a top-notch performance against the Vanderbilt Commodores at Ballpark of Barrow College. The result was a win for the Cavaliers, 5-2. Horn went 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-1. Earning his 10th save for Virginia was Jon Moore.
The Cavaliers got a big at-bat from catcher Sam Lewis. For the game, Lewis went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 6th double of the season gave Virginia a 1-0 lead.
"Enjoyed this one," Horn told the Virginia News. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
The Cavaliers bumped their record to 26-14 with this latest triumph.
