Bulldogs Prevail, 4-2, Over California

The California Golden Bears got a sterling performance from pitcher Ernie Spencer, but the Bulldogs still prevailed, 4-2. Spencer was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He threw 5 innings of 2-hit ball. Reliever Travis Zastrow picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Justin Madison took the loss. Earning his 1st save for Fresno State was Nate Lee.
Bobby Wilson aided the Fresno State cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter was 1 for 5.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Fresno State manager Xavier Chávez.
The Bulldogs bumped their record to 21-19 with this latest triumph.
