Bruins Turn Back Ragin Cajuns, 4-3
Louisiana-Layfayette got a terrific performance from right fielder Dan Miller, but it wasn't enough to beat the UCLA Bruins. UCLA won the Ballpark of Shiprock College contest, 4-3. Miller was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 2-3 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. The winner was UCLA reliever Jim Bigler, now 2-0. The loser was Greg Maynard. UCLA is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Bruins got a big at-bat from designated hitter William Poulis. For the game, Poulis was 1-3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the third, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 6th double of the season gave UCLA a 4-1 lead.

"Enjoyed this one," Poulis told the UCLA Times. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
