The Hawaii Islanders topped the Rubber City Rhinos, 2-1, in Roberto Clemente League action at Aloha Stadium. The player of the game was Hawaii pitcher and Nanao, Japan native Norogumi Yokoyama. The winner was Hawaii reliever Pedre Pedrogo, now 3-4. The loser was Shinzo Sasaki. The Islanders bumped their record to 44-31 with this latest triumph.

Jesús Solís was the walk-off hero for Hawaii. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Islanders shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.

"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Solís said.
