Wildcats Come Back Late to Clip 49'ers
|
Paul Bellis made an impact in the 6-5 Arizona win over Long Beach State. Bellis was 2-4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. The 23rd-place Wildcats improved to 15-24.
Bellis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a first pitch fastball from Brian Purdy, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Wildcats a 6-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Bellis.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Bellis told the Arizona Daily.
