5-Hit Blitz by Ole Miss's Orgain
|
The Ole Miss Rebels stopped the Mississippi State Bulldogs by a score of 7-6 at Ballpark of Wrightsville College today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Shane Orgain. The 21-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits.
"Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Orgain said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard."
Orgain did just that in his 8 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Bulldogs.
"Not much that I can say," offered Mississippi State manager Carlton Price. "He just hammered the heck out of us."
Shane Orgain struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 11th, struck out in the 13th and hit an RBI single in the 15th.
So far this season Orgain has hit .327 with 10 home runs, 30 RBIs and scored 29 times.
