Texans Get Close Win Over Stogies
|
The Havana Stogies got a superb performance from pitcher Joe Hardy, but the Dallas Texans still won the game, 6-5. Hardy was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. Dallas reliever Adrien Clément picked up the win, upping his record to 4-3. Felipe Arreola was saddled with the loss. Dallas is second in the Roberto Clemente League Christian Latulippe Division with a record of 40-32.
Dallas's win came gift-wrapped. With no one out in the bottom of the ninth, with the game tied, Chandler Lennie reached on an error by the center fielder, driving in 1 run.
"It was a solid team effort," said Lennie after the game.
