Multi-HR Game for Mann in 6-4 Win
|
The USC Trojans saddled the Texas Longhorns with a loss at Nesquehoning College Fields. The final score was 6-4. Joe Mann, named player of the game, was 4 for 4, including 2 singles and 2 home runs. The USC third baseman scored 2 runs and drove in 5. Chris Moran earned the save, his 12th, for the Trojans. The Trojans bumped their record to 20-19 with this latest triumph.
Mann had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-2 circle change from Tyler Mawn, he banged a 2-run home run to right, giving the Trojans a 5-4 lead. It was the 13th home run of the year for Mann.
In postgame comments to the USC Observer, Mann said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
