Demon Deacans Score Late, Upend Bulldogs, 3-2

The Wake Forest Demon Deacans eked out a 3-2 win versus the Georgia Bulldogs at Field of the Plunder. Nobody did more than pitcher Ross Charest, who captured player of the game honors. The winner was Wake Forest reliever Jeff Fite, now 1-0. The loser was Darryl Fraizer. The Demon Deacans, now 16-22, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Jim Baker made it 3-2, Wake Forest, in the top of the eighth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Demon Deacans win.
"Both teams played hard," said Wake Forest manager Gilberto Morales.
