Victory Pushes Cavaliers Record to 23-14
|
The Virginia Cavaliers topped the Alabama Crimson Tide, 6-2, in Skip Bertman League action at Ballpark of Redwood College. The player of the game was Virginia pitcher Cody Botelho. The Cavaliers have an impressive 23-14 record.
The Cavaliers got a big at-bat from center fielder Chad Mabeus. For the game, Mabeus was 2 for 3 with a double and a walk, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the second, with runners on 2nd and 3rd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Virginia a 3-2 lead.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Virginia manager Larry Vaughn.
