The 2034 season is getting ugly for Miami.
Ayden Dixon was in top form in a low-scoring contest between Iowa State and Miami. The Cyclones right-hander was named the player of the game in Iowa State's 2-1 win. Nick Swanson was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
The Cyclones got a big at-bat from catcher Ben Wollney. For the game, Wollney went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Iowa State a 2-0 lead.
"I really like what we did out there today," Wollney said after the game.
The Cyclones now have a record of 18-19 with the win over Miami.
