7 Straight Wins for Colonials
The New England Colonials downed the Seattle Sasquatch, 6-3, at Sick's Stadium. The Colonials were led by Jeff Mitchell, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. New England reliever Phil Kettenring picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Hisataro Sato was saddled with the loss. Mitchell had a game-changing single in the top of the tenth. On a 1-2 fastball from Hisataro Sato, he banged a 2-run single to center, giving the Colonials a 5-3 lead. It was the 72nd hit of the year for Mitchell.
