Bulldogs Raise Rally Flag, Beat USC, 7-6
|
The Fresno State Bulldogs turned back the USC Trojans, 7-6, at Brooks College Grounds. Adam Butterfield was named player of the game for his fine performance. He was 1-1 with a home run and 3 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The win was credited to Jeff Shue in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Dave Tressler took the loss. The Bulldogs bumped their record to 18-18 with this latest triumph.
Bobby Douberly was the walk-off hero for Fresno State. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Bulldogs catcher hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Butterfield said.
