Gray Goes Wild, But Green Wave Win
|
Stanford designated hitter Tyler Gray had a good game, even if his team did not. The Cardinals dropped a 11-7 decision to Tulane at Berthoud College Grounds. Gray was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 4 runs and driving in 2. Pat Corbin got the win, improving to 1-2. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 6 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 4. The Green Wave bumped their record to 20-16 with this latest triumph.
The Green Wave got a big at-bat from third baseman Pete Koehn. For the game, Koehn went 1 for 3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. In the bottom of the second, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Tulane a 2-1 lead.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Koehn, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
