Wildcats Topple Bruins with Late Rally
|
The Wildcats had to overcome a fine performance from UCLA pitcher Dave Gershenson to grab a 2-1 win at Red Wings Ballpark. Gershenson allowed no earned runs over 6 innings. Arizona reliever Benjamin Ladds was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Dave Thibodeau took the loss. The 'W' lifts Arizona's record to 13-22.
Pete Flower aided the Arizona cause with a run-scoring double in the bottom of the seventh. For the game, the second baseman was 1-3 with a double.
Flower called the triumph "a good team win."
