Kirkendall Helps Sycamores Run Win Streak to 5
Jon Kirkendall drove in 4 runs to help Indiana State defeat South Illinois, 10-3. The right fielder had 1 double and 2 home runs for the Sycamores. Indiana State reliever Sam Wentzel was the winner. His record is now 2-1. Jim Thomazin took the loss. The first-place Sycamores have won 5 in a row.

One important at-bat for Indiana State came with two out in the top of the ninth inning. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Kirkendall hit a 3-run home run, which contributed to the Sycamores win.

"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Kirkendall told reporters after the game.
