Yellow Jackets Rally to Eke Out Win
|
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets topped the South Carolina Gamecocks, 3-2, in Skip Bertman League action at Scandals Ballpark. The player of the game was Georgia Tech pitcher Jeff Farrar. The winner was Toby Hinkle in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Sean Ritter took the loss. The Yellow Jackets, now 22-12, have won 12 in a row.
Mike Backer made it 3-2, Georgia Tech, in the top of the 13th when he grounded out, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Yellow Jackets win.
"If you want to be considered a good team, these are the kind of games you have to win," said Georgia Tech manager Reese Mitchell.
