Salukis Turn Back Miami, 4-2
|
South Illinois Salukis starter Tom Scholten pitched a strong game against the Miami Hurricanes at Gremlins Ballpark, leading the Salukis to a 4-2 win. Mike Baker locked down his 8th save. South Illinois is now 16-18, Miami 10-24.
Ryan Egan aided the South Illinois cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh. For the game, the catcher was 1-4.
"We had a good game plan," Scholten said, "and we were able to execute it."
