Sycamores Bang Out 7-5 Win Versus Vanderbilt
|
Gary Skinner had a hand in Indiana State defeating Vanderbilt by the score of 7-5. Skinner went 3 for 4 at the plate, scoring 1 times and driving in 1 runs. Pat Norris, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 4 innings. Ray Toye locked down his 4th save.
The Sycamores got a big at-bat from third baseman Dave Perkins. For the game, Perkins was 1-5 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Indiana State a 7-5 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Indiana State manager Philip Lilly.
The Sycamores bumped their record to 22-11 with this latest triumph.
