Behind a solid performance from right fielder T.J. Leiby, the Oklahoma Sooners defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks, 4-2. Leiby went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Sooners. Mike Duff, credited with the win, is now 1-0. He allowed 1 run on 4 hits in 4 innings. Zachary Schultz locked down his 4th save.
Leiby had a big at-bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the third inning, when he hit a solo home run. The Sooners went on to win.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Oklahoma manager Bennie Edwards.
The Sooners bumped their record to 19-14 with this latest triumph.
