Clemson played host to North Carolina at the friendly confines of Magistrates Ballpark.

Clemson Tigers starter Jonathan Van Horn turned in an exceptional performance against the North Carolina Tar Heels at Magistrates Ballpark, resulting in a Clemson win, 3-1. Van Horn got the win, improving to 4-1. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.1 innings. Van Horn allowed 1 earned run. Larry Martin locked down his 6th save.

Jonathan Mancera drew 2 walks for Clemson. The 20-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the third. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jeremy White. It was his 2nd walk of the season.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Mancera said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."

The 21st-place Tigers lifted their record to 13-20.
