Walk-Off Seals 25th Victory for Cardinals
|
Stanford right-hander Jay Fredrick pitched his team to a shutout win, 1-0, over the Rice Owls. Stanford reliever Chris Yochum picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Bryan Drebin shouldered the loss. Stanford leads the Cliff Gustafson by 3 games.
Travis Voss contributed to the Stanford win with a solo home run in the bottom of the 17th. For the game, the catcher had 2 hits in 7 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Voss told the Stanford Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
