Commodores Lose, 3-1, at Gremlins Ballpark
|
Miami got an elite performance from starting pitcher Ezra Bryan in taking a 3-1 decision over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Even with the win, the Hurricanes have a dismal 9-23 record.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from catcher Rich Groves. For the game, Groves was 2 for 5 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 3rd double of the season gave Miami a 1-0 lead.
Groves told a Miami Citizen reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
