Victory Pushes Golden Eagles Record to 20-12
|
South Mississippi and Tulane duked it out at Berthoud College Grounds and the Golden Eagles came out victorious.
The South Mississippi Golden Eagles did just enough to secure a 5-4 victory over the Tulane Green Wave at Berthoud College Grounds. Nobody did more than second baseman Aaron Tarter, who captured player of the game honors. The Green Wave, at 17-15, have lost 4 straight games.
The Golden Eagles got a big at-bat from designated hitter Dallas Fugate. For the game, Fugate went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 13th home run of the season gave South Mississippi a 5-3 lead.
Fugate told a South Mississippi Observer reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
