Great Day for Mann, Hits for Cycle
|
Dan Mann was hard to stop but his Iowa State Cyclones were not.
The Florida Gators overcame a cycle from Mann to take a 6-5 victory over the Cyclones at Forney College Grounds today.
"It feels good for me, but it would have felt even better if we had won that ballgame," Mann told the press corps. "I still enjoy it, but I would've liked to win the game, too."
He cracked 4 hits in 5 at-bats, had 1 RBI and 2 runs scored. Although his team lost, the Cyclones left fielder will still get his place in the record books.
Dan Mann tripled in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Jason Klein in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
This year Mann is hitting .284, produced 11 RBIs and 5 home runs, scored 11 times and gotten on base at a .422 rate.
