Arizona rode a decent outing from starter Mike Sapienza to victory over the Washington State Cougars at Red Wings Ballpark. The final score was 6-5. The win was Billy Murray's in relief. His record improves to 2-2. Joe Campton took the loss for Washington State. The 21st-place Wildcats raised their record to 11-20.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the tenth. With Arizona trailing 5-4, Jesse Shields hit a fastball from Brandon Swift to right for a 2-run double. Just like that, the Wildcats had a walk-off win.

"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Shields.
