Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Commodores
Alabama pitcher Jason Murphy gave the Commodores all they could handle, but in the end, Vanderbilt left Ballpark of Barrow College with a 4-2 win. Murphy allowed 2 earned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 innings. The Commodores bumped their record to 17-14 with this latest triumph.

Vanderbilt won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With two outs and Ben West on the mound for Alabama, first baseman Marc DeYoung hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Commodores fans to their feet.

DeYoung said afterward that he was "glad the fans were treated to a good ballgame."
