Despite a great performance by Arkansas catcher David Lopo, the South Carolina Gamecocks defeated the Razorbacks by the score of 5-4 at Ramparts Ballpark. Lopo was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. South Carolina reliever Tommy Free was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Chris Carpenter took the loss. The 19th-place Razorbacks have dropped 6 straight games.

Josh Fade drew 2 walks in 5 trips to the plate for South Carolina. The 21-year old catcher had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring walk off Chris Carpenter. It was his 10th walk of the season.

"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said South Carolina manager Orlando Torres. "It's usually not just one thing."
