Davis Slugs Buckeyes to 8-6 Win
With first baseman Ron Davis leading the charge, the Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Georgia Bulldogs, 8-6, at Field of the Plunder. Davis, who is tied for 7th in the SBL in RBI with 29, hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win was Eric Haft's in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Alex Vargas took the loss for Georgia. Ohio State now has a 3-game win streak.

Ohio State used the bat of Greg Axtman to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Buckeyes ahead, 8-6. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"Baseball is about momentum," said Davis, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
