Fisher Slugs Yellow Jackets to 8-4 Win
|
The Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets topped the Virginia Cavaliers by the score of 8-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Brad Fisher. Fisher slugged 2 home runs, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice for the Yellow Jackets on the day. Georgia Tech has run its win streak to 9 in a row.
Fisher contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Georgia Tech in the bottom of the fifth. With his team trailing 1-0, Fisher took a curveball from Danny Horn and stroked the home run to left. His 2nd home run of the season allowed the Yellow Jackets to leap in front, 2-1.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Georgia Tech skipper Reese Mitchell.
