Victory Over Hurricanes Takes Indiana State to 20-11
|
Starting pitcher Dave Michlin pitched well enough to help the Indiana State Sycamores beat the Miami Hurricanes by the score of 6-4. Michlin got the win, improving to 4-0. He allowed 2 hits and walked 0 over 5.1 innings. Michlin allowed no earned runs. Ray Toye, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.
Gary Skinner, who is tied for 7th in the SBL in runs scored with 27, aided the Indiana State cause with a 2-run triple in the bottom of the third. For the game, the shortstop was 4 for 5 with a triple and 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Michlin, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
The Sycamores bumped their record to 20-11 with this latest triumph.
