Anson Slugs Bears to 6-2 Win
|
With left fielder Bryan Anson leading the charge, the Baylor Bears defeated the Texas Longhorns, 6-2, at Wolverines Stadium. Anson, who is tied for 5th in the RDL with a .393 batting average, went 2-2 with 2 home runs and 2 walks. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The win was credited to Dexter Adams in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Andy Robisch took the loss. With the win, Baylor goes to 12-18, while the Longhorns fall to 14-16.
Anson contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Baylor in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Anson took a forkball from Andy Robisch and stroked the home run to center. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Bears to leap in front, 2-1.
"It feels good to get this one," Anson told the Baylor Citizen.
