Titans Solve Cougars, 5-4
|
The Cal State Fullerton Titans eked out a 5-4 win versus the Houston Cougars at Suns Ballpark. Nobody did more than designated hitter Zach Hicks, who captured player of the game honors. Cal State Fullerton is now 12-18, while Houston is 18-12.
Hicks contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Cal State Fullerton in the top of the fifth. With his team trailing 4-3, Hicks took a fastball from Logan Hurley and stroked the home run to right-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Titans to leap in front, 5-4.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Hicks said after the game.
