Golden Eagles Solve Golden Bears, 4-2
|
Fans who gathered at Prisoners Ballpark saw a good contest between the South Mississippi Golden Eagles and California Golden Bears.
With first baseman Danny Redding leading the charge, the South Mississippi Golden Eagles defeated the California Golden Bears, 4-2, at Prisoners Ballpark. Redding, who is tied for 8th in the RDL with a 1.159 OPS, was 3 for 5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times. Bob Chamberlain was called on to finish, recording his 6th save.
Mat Martin aided the South Mississippi cause with a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the center fielder went 1-4 with a double and was hit by a pitch.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Redding told the South Mississippi Observer.
The Golden Eagles bumped their record to 18-12 with this latest triumph.
