Hurricanes Walk Off with Win
|
Alabama got a terrific performance from pitcher Donald Cacace, but it wasn't enough to beat the Miami Hurricanes. Miami won the Gremlins Ballpark contest, 4-3. Cacace was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He threw 5 innings of 3-hit ball. Miami reliever Gabe George was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Danny Shaw took the loss. Even with the win, the Hurricanes have a dismal 8-21 record.
The Hurricanes got a big at-bat from first baseman Willie Curry. For the game, Curry went 1 for 5. In the bottom of the tenth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 32nd hit of the season gave Miami a 4-3 lead.
"Exhilarating win," said Curry.
