Getting an impressive start from Derrick Brown, Georgia beat Iowa State by the score of 5-2. Georgia, now 11-17, holds 20th place in the Ron Fraser Division.

Ellis Gilbert's hit in the top of the 11th was a game-changer. With one out, he rapped a fastball from Ryan Popek for a 2-run single. It put Georgia in front, 4-2.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Brown told the Georgia Daily.
