Late Rally by Owls Secures Win
The UCLA Bruins got a sterling performance from designated hitter William Poulis, but the Owls still prevailed, 9-8. Poulis was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He was 2-4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The Owls bumped their record to 14-14 with this latest triumph.

Lee Johnston was the walk-off hero for Rice. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Owls shortstop hit a dramatic solo home run to send the teams home.

"I felt good up there," said Johnston. "I saw the ball well."
