Hartsell Goes Off, But Cougars Win
UCLA got a terrific game from center fielder Matt Hartsell. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Houston, 7-5. Hartsell was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Houston has now won 3 in a row.

The Cougars got a big at-bat from left fielder Jeremy Gilbertson. For the game, Gilbertson went 1 for 4 with a home run and a walk. In the top of the eighth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Houston a 5-4 lead.

"Being able to contribute to a win is always a great feeling," Gilbertson told the Houston News.
