Green Wave Bang Out 8-4 Win Versus Washington State
The Tulane Green Wave knocked off the Washington State Cougars, 8-4, at Berthoud College Grounds. Nathan Gorzynski, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Tulane won. The shortstop was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Tulane reliever Kevin Boettcher was the winner. His record is now 2-1. The losing pitcher was Mark Eppler. The Green Wave sit in 6th place in the Cliff Gustafson with a record of 16-11.

Matt Kelly had a big 2-run single for the Green Wave in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Tulane trailing 3-0 and the bases loaded, he got a fastball from Mark Eppler and stroked the single to left-center. It was his 17th hit of the season, and more importantly, it put the Green Wave ahead, 3-2.

"I don't feel you win baseball games by working harder than the other team or 'wanting it more,'" Gorzynski told the Tulane Gazette. "You win just by scoring more runs."
