USC got a terrific game from shortstop Ryan Crawford. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to TCU, 5-2. Crawford was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs. Chris Costello got the win, improving to 1-1. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 7 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 5 and walking 1. At 12-15, the Horned Frogs are currently 17th in the Cliff Gustafson.

The Horned Frogs got a big at-bat from first baseman Eric Stoffey. For the game, Stoffey was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave TCU a 5-2 lead.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Stoffey said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
