Russell goes 3-for-4 in Demon Deacans Win
Wake Forest first baseman Matt Russell was instrumental in his team's 11-4 win over the Vanderbilt Commodores. Russell, who is tied for 3rd in the SBL in runs scored with 26, went 3-4 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Demon Deacans. The winner was Wake Forest reliever Steve Porco, now 1-0. The loser was Kyle Rucci. Wake Forest's record now stands at 12-14, placing them 16th in the Ron Fraser Division.

Casey Ickes, who is tied for 7th in the SBL in doubles with 8, chipped in for Wake Forest with a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 3 runs scored, and 2 RBI.
