Veliz goes 4-for-5, Tar Heels Move to 19-7
North Carolina right fielder Omar Veliz was instrumental in his team's 8-1 win over the Missouri Tigers. Veliz, who is the 2nd-best prospect in the Tar Heels organization, went 4-5 with 2 runs scored to lead the offensive attack for the Tar Heels. The Tar Heels have an impressive 19-7 record.

Veliz contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for North Carolina in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Veliz took a cutter from Kevin Hasson and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Tar Heels to leap in front, 3-1.

"I still think this team has room for improvement," Veliz told the North Carolina News.
