Wildcats Clip Longhorns in Tight Contest
|
Arizona pinch hitter Jesse Shields was instrumental in his team's 5-3 win over the Texas Longhorns. Shields went 1-1 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Wildcats. Even with the win, the Wildcats have a dismal 8-18 record.
Shields had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a 1-1 fastball from Justin Henderson, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Wildcats a 5-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Shields.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Arizona manager Jeffrey Coffman.
