Golden Eagles Win at USC, 4-2
|
South Mississippi third baseman John Rose was instrumental in his team's 4-2 win over the USC Trojans. Rose went 2-3 with 1 run scored to lead the offensive attack for the Golden Eagles. King Caston got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Trojans to no earned runs on 4 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Nick Richmond recorded his 2nd save for South Mississippi.
Rose had a key at-bat for South Mississippi early in the game. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and gave South Mississippi an early 3-0 lead.
"I still think this team has room for improvement," Rose told the South Mississippi Observer.
The Golden Eagles bumped their record to 15-11 with this latest triumph.
